Recording here is a really special experience, looking at the sea and the cliffs as you’re doing a vocal take in the evening as the sun is setting, or all the band being in the the room together recording live to tape, then getting to take time before going for a swim in the the ice cold see (we have wet suits for you!)

Before the session we try to find what the project would need from us. Sometimes with a band all that is needed is a very light touch, just an encouragement to make the record that they want to make, and a bit of space and time to find that sound and performance. Some projects want us to be fully involved, coming up with ideas and suggestions, getting really into the bones of the record.  We love working on both types and understand where and when to make these suggestions.

Ok so we get it, the setting of this studio is so beautiful, other engineers and producer would love to work in the space :) so you totally can. The studio is set up to be very user friendly, and we can be around for set up and any technical questions you may have, and then it’s all yours.

We are always up for some remote mixing.  When mixing your record we want to get to know you as well as possible so we would spend a bunch of time chatting to you, listening to recordings you like and learning about you just the same as we would if we were recording your record.  Some of the greatest records we have worked on have been like this.

Mastering is a process that we love. We suggest that if you have made the record with us, that it’s fun to have someone else master it, however we love mastering tracks from other studios or home projects and playing a part in finishing the track. We can master for digital, vinyl, CD, etc, and have worked with clients including Sufjan Stevens.

What a space to write, if you’re a band that wants to write together or you’re a solo songwriter this is the perfect place to hide away.  We can also set up and record your writing session so you can take it away and digest what you have written.
